The weather is always nice in Aruba...

Except for yesterday.... when it rained almost all day. It seems Aruba has one day of rain every 3 years. There are occasional showers again today. It is like living in a land of a continuous wet tee shirt contest. How do you spell p-a-r-a-d-i-s-e?

We had to cancel the snorkel trip yesterday, due to overcast skies and some rain.

Had some pasta in last night... needed the break from all that eat-out food. I've been on this island for 10 days and haven't had fish yet. You can have anything you want to eat here, as long as it is beef.

Finally got the fridge to stop making the beer so damn cold.... life is good, or at least better.

Thunder and Nicole are upset that we are here and they are not... I miss Thunder boy.... and cole.

Ciao for now!

Do you have your ears on?

Is anyone listening to my boring blog? I get no comments....

Today we are off to snorkel some reef around Aruba. I'm looking forward to it. I'll have to take special care to keep an eye on 'rella, as her swimming skills are suspect.

We had a so so meal last night at the hotel.... looking forward to just relaxing and gambling tonight. Winning, I should say.... gonna buy 'cole a new camera and keep her old one - maybe.

g2g.... ciao for now... (no hasta la vista, baby....)

The results from my experiment are, unfortunately, inconclusive. I'll have to return in the future for a retest.

Baby beach was really nice. Perhaps the best beach I have ever been to, bar none. We were snorkeling and released bread into the water. We were surrounded by large quantities of fish of all shapes, sizes and colors.... really cool stuff. Eating right out of your hand. Nibbling on you. Checked out the reef... sharp, like a knife.

Went to Brazilian BBQ for dinner.... man, good, lots and lots to eat. Starve yourself for a few days first. Oh yea, you really have to be a meat eater too.

'rella talks to everyone she meets, BAU. Meet someone who has a child living in the same building as 'cole, back in RI.

Well, thats all for today, or at least for now.

Hata la vista, baby...

News and views....

Well, today we are off to baby beach to snorkel and swim.

Yesterday I pulled some woman out of the ocean who got a little to far from shore. I'm getting to old for this.... and I mean that.

Got a little bored just hanging around so I decided to conduct a scientific experiment on humans regarding: the biological implications of alcohol on neurological and motor functions under controlled conditions in the southern hemisphere where: the ambient temperature exceeds 85 F for no less than 48 consecutive hours; the subjects audio and visual senses are continuously overwhelmed.

When determining the variables for the experiment I didn't fully appreciate the challengs this controled enviroment would impose. Setting the environment up was challenging.

More on this tomorrow....

Hasta la vista, baby....

Debate your specific VP plans.... I dare you....

Watching the debate.... He said, she said. Man, this is a useless discussion. If I want to know about John or Barrack I'll watch that debate. Here is a radical idea: Lets hear what PALIN and BIDEN stand for and plan to do if elected in the Binden/Palin debate! All I hear is John/Barrack voted 20xs for this or that over the last 2 yrs.... etc etc.

I gotta tell you... for me, Biden is not someone I believe. His track record on truthfulness is weak, at best. I watch him in the debate, and I have the sense he distorts the truth. Palin might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, or my first pick, but I'll take her...

I also don't understand how an issue can be made of Palin's lack of experience by Democrats, when Barrack's also very inexperienced.

I listen to the debate, and I fear for the future of our country.... where are the leaders who can win an election based on THE PLAN THEY HAVE FOR OUR COUNTRY? All I am hearing is criticism of the other guy. Tell me what you are going to do, gvie me specifics, please! If that is how you think you are going to win my vote, it isn't going to happen.

Maybe it is me... I must be out of touch.

Scottie, I need more power....

Today is day three in the land of sand and sun. We came, we saw, we over indulged. I still have sand in my ears after shower #6. Mental note: Only bury others in the sand.

This Aruba is a great place. Land of eternal sunshine, a slight breeze, the best ocean, temperate climate in the 80's and drinks w/little umbrellas. In the spirit of recycling and non frivolous use of the worlds limited resources, I wonder if the ants could use those umbrellas during a rain storm? It would be difficult to live in a world w/o them - the umbrellas. The ants I can do w/o. Who would even notice, an aardvark on the dark continent?

Back to the important stuff.... this island is a great place. Historically, it clearly demonstrates the total lack of a coherent and advantageous US foreign policy in the late 1800s. If the US didn't have its cranium inserted several inches into the proverbial rectum, they would have abandoned Puerto Rico and colonized this place. The US has an 'icebox' in the north.... this could have been the 'steam room' in the south. Perhaps it is not too late. Maybe I should start an internet rumor that Aruba has WMD. Today I will work on securing my Aruba real estate holdings prior to firing up the rumor mill. This could be one of my best ideas yet...

Funding my future real estate empire I will use the winnings from my Texas Hold'm tournament. Last night I reluctantly entered a tournament. I won. I play again tonight and if I place 1st or 2nd, I will make the money and the final table w/a chance for some serious green. This started out as fun. I really don't think I am that good a player. I was on a table w/some people last night who did this for a living... the serious dudes come from all over the world to enter and try and win this thing. I show up, some casual player from New York w/too much sand in his ears - and I win.... go figure. I had my best face on the entire game - kinda like a cross between really stern and desperately needing to break wind - my poker face. I'll need all the power Scottie can muster for tonight's game. Maybe even a Fulton torpedo and the tractor beam.

The wind, the water and the waves beckon me.... hasta la vista, baby.
